Doctor, Doctor

They are keeping me another night.

The good news is I feel better than I have in weeks. They still don’t know what’s wrong with me–all the tests were negative–so I am staying overnight for a colonoscopy. I just hope this is all going to be over tomorrow morning. I’ve been sick so long I almost don’t remember what it feels like to feel good. But it’ll be nice to eat solid food again; they started me on it yesterday, but of course last meal before colonoscopy is liquid. Broth, lemon ice, and jello. Yum.

I’ve also never stayed in a hospital this long before. My shoulder surgery was done as outpatient. It’s been boring but nice. All I can do is watch television and look at my phone. I got the laptop out tonight to write this, but other than that I’ve just been resting, ignoring the news, and bingeing Everybody Loves Raymond, The Big Bang Theory, and the original Roseanne, which was really a remarkable show. It really is a shame that she went insane.

But I feel rested more than I have in a while. Ochsner Baptist is a very good hospital the staff is so nice and friendly and helpful. I’ve always been a little afraid of this place since Katrina (see mini-series Five Days at Memorial for why) which is silly.

and back to getting ready.
